Do you or members of your staff suffer from pain?
Numerous days of work are lost through back, neck and joint problems which are the most common cause of chronic incapacity. Several musculoskeletal problems do not require or benefit from a period of absence from work. Ensure these are assessed and managed appropriately in a short time frame.
Pilates is an exercise method that begins movements from a central core and is designed to promote core stability, flexibility, muscular endurance, postural and body awareness and correct muscle imbalances.
Each of the 34 matwork exercises are progressed by the use of limb movements to further challenge the central core. Precision of movement, awareness of breathing and continued flow of movement restore abnormal movement patterns. Pilates is an excellent method for realigning and strengthening the body for its own purpose, or in adjunct to physiotherapy or training programmes to alleviate aches and pains and enhance your body's performance.
Exercises can also be tailored to your specific sport. As each sport has different demands on your body, the therapist will work closely with you to identify your needs and provide the exercises you specifically require to meet, and exceed these challenges.
The therapist providing pilates instruction has trained with the Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute (APPI); The world leader in Pilates training and is actively involved in continued professional development with the APPI. This enhances her development of both tailored 1-2-1 programmes and group classes.
You will receive thorough assessment and treatment by a qualified physiotherapist following which a management plan will be agreed and explained to you thoroughly. An appropriate treatment will be given and we will advise you on how you can maximise this with home exercises. If we are unable to help, we will direct you towards other professionals who may be in a position to offer different advice/management.
